For the second consecutive year, the first baby of the new year arrived just two days into the new year at the Scott County Hospital.
Paloma Olivas was the first baby of 2010 born in Scott County, arriving at 12:26 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 2. The new arrival weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz. and was 20 inches long. She was delivered by Dr. Christian Cupp.
She is the first child born to Angel and Joanne Olivas, Scott City.
Maternal grandparents are Antonio Berumen M. and Luz Aide Soto Fierro, Scott City. Paternal grandparents are Manuel and Angelica Olivas, Scott City.
