Patricia T. Pat Miller

Patricia T. “Pat” Miller, 78, died Aug. 7, 2010, at the Wichita County Health Center, Leoti.
She was born Aug. 31, 1931, at Rock Springs, Wyo., the daughter of Joseph Houston and Mary Perner Scott. 
She was a homemaker and farm wife and had been a Wichita County resident since 1951, moving from Scott City.
She had been known as “The Cake Lady” for the past 47 years and was locally renown for her “Pat Miller Cake Recipes.”
She was a former member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in rural Wichita County until it joined congregations and she became a member of the United Methodist Church, Leoti. She was a former Sunnyside EHU member, a former Wichita County 4-H leader, and was an avid Wichita County High School sports fan.
On Nov. 25, 1951, she married Francis W. “Sonny” Miller at Scott City. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons,  Richard, and wife, Becky, and Mark, and wife, Amber, all of Leoti, and Scott and wife, Dione, Overland Park; one daughter, Dedra McKinney, and husband, Scott, Leoti; her mother, Scott City; three sisters, Marvel Hopkins and Madeline Murphy, both of Scott City, and Charlotte Utley, Duncan, Okla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Aug. 10 at the United Methodist Church, Leoti,  with Rev. Mike Howard officiating.  Burial was in the Leoti Cemetery.
