Patrick B. O’Dea, 71, died July 9, 2010, at Garden Valley Retirement Village, Garden City.
He was born Jan. 27, 1939, at Indianola, Nebr., the son of Harold F. and Elizabeth (Hanthorne) O’Dea.
A resident of Scott City since August of 2009, moving from North Platte, Nebr., he was a US Air Force veteran and was an office clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He was a member of St. Pats Catholic Church, North Platte, Nebr., and the VFW.
On Sept. 7, 1957, he married Alice J. Gerver at Oberlin. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Bob, Scott City, Mike, North Platte, Nebr., and Scott, Kimble, Nebr.; two daughters, Val Karel, Redding, Calif., and Betty Cummins, Olathe; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Santos Lopez.
Memorial service was held July 13 at Community Christian Church, Scott City, with the Pastor Troy Schroeder officiating. Graveside service was held on July 14 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebr.
