Paul E. Krause, 86, died Feb. 17, 2010, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born April 19, 1923, at Abilene, the son of Frederick William and Emma Louise (Bebermeyer) Krause.
A resident of Scott City, Scott County and Wichita County since 1937, moving from Dickinson County, he was a farmer.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scott City, the Kansas Wheat Association, past 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, member of the church choir, and was a very active leader in the church, including the men’s prayer breakfast.
On June 7, 1952, he married Merilyn J. Keener at Norton. She survives.
Other survivors include: one son, Rick, and wife, Lori, Modoc; two daughters, Starla Krause and Robin Krause, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Merle Krause, Plains; and one grandson, Bram Paul Krause, Edinburg, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Stan; and one sister, Ruth Krause.
Paul requested that his body be donated to the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, for research.
Celebration of life will be held Mon., Feb. 22, 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Dennis Carter and Rev. John Martin officiating.
