2 guest speakers for El Quartelejo Study Club

The GFWC El Quartelejo Study Club met Jan. 12 at the home of Donis Mitchell with co-hostess Rozann Rodenberg.  

Twelve members and two guests were present.  

President Brenda Turpin the guests, Betty LaToush, who presented a program about Celebrate Recovery, and Tonya Williams, who spoke about volunteering for the Grade Level Reading Initiative program held at Scott City Elementary School on Thursdays.

Volunteers can be one individual that comes each Thursday or a group that rotates. She left volunteer forms with the club to consider.

The meeting was then called to order with all reciting the Club Collect and Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was answered  by naming a freedom that they have as an American.

The minutes were approved as read. Thank you notes were read for one Christmas box, a birthday gift, and from Ft. Dodge for the veteran’s donations.

The fundraising report was given and results from the nominating committee were announced. Valentines were collected and will be donated to Ft. Dodge for the veterans. Volunteer  hours were turned in for reporting.

The next meeting will be Thurs., Feb. 9, at the home of Carolyn Janzen.
