Denton and Karen Berry, Scott City, announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle, to Thayne Heusi, Overland Park, son of Dennis and Janice Heusi, Effingham.
The bride-to-be earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and nursing degree from Washburn University, Topeka. She is pursuing a master’s in nursing degree at WU.
She currently is working as a Registered Nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Jenks, Lakin, and the late Glen Jenks, and Don and Lorena Berry, Garden City.
The prospective groom earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Kansas State University and joint specialized undergraduate pilot training.
He is currently a captain in the United States Air Force as a pilot.
He is the grandson of Everett and Dorothy Gilliland, Lancaster, and the late Alfred and Mildred Heusi.
The couple is planning an Oct. 23 wedding at Deer Creek Golf Club, Overland Park.
