Lindsey Shellenberger and Christopher Koochel, Eudora, were united in marriage on Jan. 23, 2010, in a double-ring ceremony performed by pastor Dennis Carter at the First United Methodist Church, Scott City.
Parents of the bride are Rohn and Traci Shellenberger, Scott City.
She is the granddaughter of Ken and Bonnie Kysar, Lakin, and Bill Shellenberger, Medicine Lodge.
Parents of the groom are Patrick and Jillane Koochel, Great Bend.
He is the grandson of Alex and Twila Herrman, LaCrosse, and Florine Meister, Great Bend.
The bride was given away by her father. She wore an ivory, Maggie Sottero, A-line gown with sweetheart neckline and lace-up closure. Empress taffeta wraps across the lace-embellished bodice created an asymmetrical waist. The back of the gown pulls at the side hip creating an asymmetrical train.
She wore white magnolia in her hair and an ivory veil with crystal edging.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses, purple calla lilies and red orchids.
Maid of honor was Michelle Berry, Overland Park, and matron of honor was Katie Koester, Overland Park. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Tuttle, Sidney, Nebr., Katie Gross, Lenexa, and Stephanie Woolfolk, Satanta.
Best men was Ethan Koochel, Great Bend, and Kiel Mangus, Wichita. Groomsmen were Jeff Brady, Clearwater, and Mike Pick and Chris Gamm, both of Omaha, Nebr.
Flower girl was Brooke Herrman, LaCrosse, and ring bearer was Henry Eggers, Wichita.
Ushers were Matthew Shellenberger, Canyon, Tex., Jordan Duff, Garden City, Nathan Weigel, LaCrosse, and Aaron Koochel, Salina.
Scripture reader was Emily Koochel, Manhattan. Candle lighters were Brett Herrman, LaCrosse, and Julianne Snyder, Lyons.
Soloist was Kelly Maze, Omaha, Nebr., and pianist was Beth Hess, Scott City.
Guest book and program attendants were Samantha Kysar, Lakin, and Rachel Weigel, LaCrosse. Bell attendants were Jadyn Snyder, Lyons, and Eli Temanson, Pratt.
Reception, dinner and dance were held at The Majestic Theatre, Scott City.
The bride was a 2003 graduate of Scott Community High School; a 2007 graduate of Kansas State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in life science; and a 2009 graduate of Wichita State University, earning a master’s degree in physician assistant studies.
She is currently employed as a pediatric physician assistant at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Lawrence.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Great Bend High, and a 2009 graduate of Kansas State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in construction science and management. In May 2009, he earned his commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army.
He was activated and deployed with the Kansas National Guard in May 2010 and is currently serving at Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, Africa.
The couple honeymooned at Montego Bay, Jamaica.
They now reside at Lawrence.
