A lone gold medal in the medley relay was the only championship claimed by the Scott City Stars at the Western Kansas Swim Club combined meet held July 17-18 at Dodge City.
As expected, the competition was tough when all 12 teams in the league came together.
Members of the WKSC are Great Bend, Hays, Dodge City, Liberal, Garden City, Dumas (Tex.), Spearman (Tex.), Ulysses, Guymon (Okla.), Lakin, Leoti and Scott City.

The Lady Stars grabbed nine silver medals - five of those in the relays.
The gold medal relay team added a runner-up finish in the 100m freestyle (1:34.95).
In the 9-10-year-old division, the relay team of Kylee Trout, Rachel Fisher, Makaela Stevens and Jordan Miller were runners-up in the 200m freestyle (2:45.02) and the 200m medley (3:29.13).
Scott City also won a pair of relay silver medals in the 13-14-year-old division. The team of Krissa Dearden, Reagan Smyth, Cassidy Hornbostel and Christina Rosenlund was a runner-up in the 200m freestyle (2:24.36) and the 200m medley (2:51.77).
