Donna S. Eitel

Donna S. Eitel, 86, died Jan. 29, 2024, at the Lane County Hospital, Dighton.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1938, in Greensburg, the daughter of Frederick Earl and Beulah Elizabeth (Russell) Heinze.

A resident of Scott City since 1959, moving from Greensburg, she was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, avid gardener, and a very loving and involved mother.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Methodist Church choir, and High Plains Study Club, all of Scott City.

Donna attended Fort Hays State University where she met Robert D. Eitel of Grigston. On Aug. 30, 1959, she married Robert in Greensburg. He survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Kay Harkness, Scott City, and Pam Burgett and husband, Scott, Overland Park; three grandsons, Kyle Berend, Scott City, Luke Burgett, Denver, Colo., and Troy Burgett, Chicago, Ill.; three step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

The funeral service will be held Sat., Feb. 3, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Jeff Goetzinger and Rev. Dennis Carter officiating.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City.
