Frank Rohr

Frank Rohr, 84, Dighton, died Jan. 30, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born Oct. 4, 1939, to Martin and Matilda (Herman) Rohr on the family farm inside the limestone home in southeast Gove County.

Frank grew up on the family farm and attended a rural country school.

On September 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mert (Myrtle) Jane Sharpe at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park.

Frank grew up on the family farm and continued farming the remainder of his life. He also worked custom wheat and silage harvesting, and started Rohr’s Restaurant Service with his wife and sons. His son, Darren, continues in the Restaurant Hood Cleaning business in Kansas City and son, Frankie, continues farming on the family farm.

Frank had many interests, which included restoring antique tractors. When that came to be too much for him, he restored lawn mowers. He enjoyed going to agriculture trade shows with Frankie and enjoyed traveling and making many memories with his sons in Las Vegas. Frank really enjoyed dancing, leading many wedding marches for family and traveling to local dances. Frank also loved his many dogs over the years.

He battled colon cancer in 1984 and then preceded to battle skin cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and liver cancer.

Survivors include his sons, Frankie (Franklin G.) and wife, Joyce, Quinter, and Darren and wife, Roseann, DeSoto; sisters, Elnora Keeler, Esther Walker, Millie Schwindt, Martina Stanton and special companion, Louise Miller; and grandchildren Chelsea, Cameron, Cole and Laramie.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers and three sisters, Wendolyn, Eddy, Walter Rohr, Helen Zerr, Florina Heile and Barbara Howard; and his beloved son, Kevin Rohr.

He is loved and missed by his family, many inlaws, nieces, nephews and friends.

There was a Catholic wake service at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dighton, on Feb. 4. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park.
