Lila J. Carson

Lila J. Carson, 89, died, Feb. 27, 2024, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.

She was born on June 29, 1934, in Rush County, the daughter of William Joseph and Edna Zella (Davison) Weiser.

A resident of Scott City since 1951, moving from Garden City, she was a farmer’s wife and school bus driver.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Scott City.

On April 30, 1951, she married Billie D. Carson in Raton, N.M. He died on Aug. 10, 2004, in Scott City.

Survivors include her sons, James D. Carson and wife, Myrna, Kingman, and Charles D. Carson, Scott City; daughters, Debra A. Lawrence and husband, Shorty, Scott City, and Linda Dunagan and husband, Jason, Scott City; a sister, Lana Montgomery, Wichita; sistersin- law, Darla Weiser, Garden City, and Janice Weiser, San Antonio, Tex.; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sylvia Spanier; and brothers, Gary and Dee Weiser.

Visitation will be Fri., March 8, 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City.

The funeral service will be held Sat., March 9, 2:00 p.m., at the First Christian Church, Scott City, with Rev. Rodney Hopper presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
