Once again, tax collections exceeded expectations. Pendergast anticipated $900,000 in sales tax revenue when calculating the budget and collections reached $1,013,459.
Higher than expected revenue, a lower inflation rate and department heads who kept their spending below what was budgeted have combined to put the City of Scott City in an extremely sound financial position as the new fiscal year begins.
Scott City residents who are dog owners are reminded that licenses must be renewed at the start of each year.
In an agreement between the Scott City Council and the Garden City Council, Capt. Edward “E.J.” Ochs began serving as the interim police chief for Scott City on Jan. 7.
