TOPEKA - Kansas public school advocates raised concerns Monday with a bill that would create education savings accounts for students subjected to remote learning, shifting tax dollars to private and home schools.
The Scott County Historical Society held a “pocket change” fundraiser at Scott City Elementary School for the Maria DeGeer statue that will be unveiled in downtown Scott City later this year. The first grade class of Miriam Rodriguez (at left) took first place during the week-long contest, raising $120.03. The total raised by students in grades K-2 was $652.82. TOPEKA - The House Appropriations Committee voted to insert in the budget for state universities a mandatory tuition rebate to students based on the number of classes taught online and the academic days dropped from the calendar during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lake Wide Awake 4-H Club meeting on January 10 was led by parents. For roll call, we shared a fun thing we did over Christmas break. There were 11 members and three leaders present.
