Jane L. Nelson

Jane L. Nelson, 68, Kearney, Nebr., died, on Feb. 24, 2023, in Kearney.

Born on March 5, 1954, to Dale and Bern adette (Stevens) Falk in Mitchell, S.D., she was raised in White Lake, S.D., and graduated from White Lake School in 1972.

After high school, she moved to Pierre and worked for the State of South Dakota.

In 1974, Jane moved to Kearney, Nebr., where she worked for Baldwin Filters and later for the Buffalo County court system.

In 1977, she married Dave Nelson and moved to Denver, Colo., where she worked for a private attorney, the City of Westminster court system and Storage Tech.

In 1984, they moved to Scott City where they owned and operated The Airliner Motel and Restaurant for 18 years. They moved back to Colorado in 2002, residing in Arvada, and ultimately returned to Kearney in July of 2011 to be closer to family.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dave, Kearney, Nebr.; son, Christopher Nelson and wife, Jessi; daughter, Andrea; granddaughters Gabby and Brie, all of Omaha, Nebr.; brother, Brian Falk and wife, Karen, North Hollywood, Calif.; sister-in-law, Cathy Falk, Coppell, Tex.; brother- in-law, Mike Nelson, Tucson, Ariz.; three nephews and three great-nieces; as well as a very special friend, Connie Dustin, and many more family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and a niece.

A funeral mass will be held on Fri., April 21, 10:00 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, Kearney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Jane Nelson family for later designation.
