Dorothy Kleppinger

Dorothy Kleppinger, 96, died, July 30, 2023. She grew up on a farm north of Leoti.

Dorothy graduated valedictorian from Wichita County High School. She attended Sterling College and Bob Jones University. She became a teacher and taught for a few years.

She married Gerald Kleppinger in 1957 and then lived in Seattle, Wash. He survives.

In 1973, the family moved to Pence.

When her children were in high school, she returned to teaching at Beaver Flats, Scott City Grade School and Shallow Water. As an educator, she taught students from first grade through freshmen in college.

Following retirement, the couple moved to Spokane, Wash., to be near family.

Dorothy is also survived by her three children, David Kleppinger, Dallas, Tex., Donald Kleppinger and wife, Gina, Parker, Colo., and Linda Mason and husband, Mickey, Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Stella Niswonger; one brother, Keith Niswonger; and one sister, Lila Myers.
