Branda R. Smith

Branda R. Smith, 38, died July 22, 2024, at St. Anthony Hospital, Lakewood, Colo.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1985, in Goodland, the daughter of Mike and Rhonda (Weehunt) Beckner. A resident of Scott City since 2006, she was a homemaker.

Branda was a member of the Prairie View Church of the Brethren in Friend and was an avid bow and rifle hunter.

On April 24, 2015, she married Rylan D. Smith in Scott City. He survives.

Other survivors include her son, Clayton Smith, Scott City; father, Mike Beckner and wife, Jennifer, Goodland; brother, Justin Beckner, Wichita; grandmother, Francis Kay Copper, Goodland; uncles, Shannon Beckner, Texas, Scott Weehunt, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and aunts, Cara Short, Goodland, and Sherry Kibel, Flagler, Colo.

Branda was preceded in death by her mother, and two daughters, Terra Murphy and Cassie Murphy.

There will be no calling times.

A memorial service will be held Sat., Aug. 10, 10:30 a.m., at the Prairie View Church of the Brethren with Jon Tuttle presiding.

Inurnment will be at the Scott County Cemetery.
