Valerie Stewart, 82, died July 27, 2024, at her home in Garden City.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1941, in Yardell, Ark., the daughter of Doy and Nellie Ruth (Dolsby) Harp.
Valerie was a lifetime resident of Scott City and was a retired school bus driver for USD No. 466 (Scott County) for 46 years.
She was a member of the Gospel Fellowship Church in Shallow Water and the Quilt Guild of Scott City.
On Oct. 26, 1958, she married Guy E. Stewart in Friend. He died on April 18, 2018, in Scott City.
Survivors include her son, Edward Stewart and wife, Darci, Shallow Water; daughters, Carolyn Henry and partner, Sheri, Scott City, and Melissa Tedford and husband, Norman, Garden City; seven grandchildren, Levi Heinrich, Lakin, Tia Heinrich, Scott City, Kayla Stewart, Shallow Water, Kelly LaMaster, Scott City, Courtney Gravitt, Mexico, Mo., Evin Magaña, Great Bend, and Josh Tedford, Wichita; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Valerie was also preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Sibastian; two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held Sat., Aug. 17, 2:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Scott City, with Don Williams presiding.
There will be no calling times.
Inurnment will be at the Scott County Cemetery at a later date.
