Patricia Mae Hillery

Patricia Mae Hillery, 91, died on August 30, 2024, at the Logan County Senior Living in Oakley.

She was born on March 22, 1933, in Scott City, the daughter of William “Big Bill” and Mabel Warren Stevens.

A lifetime resident of Scott County, Kansas, she was a homemaker, waitress, cook and postal employee.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Scott City, where she enjoyed the Women’s Morning Prayer Group.

On April 28, 1951, she married H. Clifford Hillery in Scott City. He died March 3, 2021, in Scott City.

Survivors include her son, Lee Hillery and wife, Michelle, Winona; daughters, Garee Geist-Smith and husband, Clifton, Scott City, and Joy Haverfield and husband, Jay, Colby; 10 grandchildren, Dawn Oberheim, Garden City, Jill Tanner, Wichita, L. Jay Geist, Scott City, Richard Fisher, Las Vegas, Nev., Douglas Fisher, Winona, Max Haverfield, Kansas City, Mo., Heath Haverfield, Kansas City, Mo., Katie Hillery, Hays, Austin Hillery, Winona, and Clare Hillery, Winona; and nine great-grandchildren, Joshua Peach, Garrett Peach. Adrianna Peach, Bryce Nelson, Taylor Nelson, Emily Nelson, Porter Geist, Hillery Geist and Genevy Fisher; and two great-great grandchildren, Gracelynn Peach and Aiden Peach.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Harley C. Hillery.

A memorial service was held Sept. 14 at the First Christian Church in Scott City with Rev. Rodney Hopper and Steve Payne presiding.

Inurnment will be at the Russell Springs Cemetery at a later date.
