Vera Berning

Vera Berning, 65, died on Aug. 24, 2024.

She was born on April 8, 1959, in Scott City, to Bart and Teresa (Baker) Berning. Vera lived her entire life on the family farm in north Wichita County.

Vera attended Marienthal Grade School and graduated from Wichita County High School.

Having a strong faith, Vera was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal.

Vera enjoyed assisting with the family farm work, visiting with her friends, planting vegetable and flower gardens, baking, cooking, and keeping current with the news.

Vera is survived by her siblings, Linda Berning and Shirley Berning, Leoti, Galen Berning and Karen Berning, Marienthal, Jesse Berning, Scott City, Larry Berning, Lakin, and Leroy Berning, Gordon, Nebr.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents.

A private funeral Mass of Resurrection with Fr. Bernard Felix was held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marienthal on August 28, with Rosary being said preceding the Funeral Mass.

Burial followed at the St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, Marienthal.
