Howard C. King
Howard C. King, 99, died Oct. 4, 2024, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.
He was born on April 26, 1925, in Nashville, Mo., the son of Cecil and Florence (Gruver) King.
A resident of Scott City since 1958, moving from Dighton, he was a junior high school shop teacher for 22 years. Howard and Dorothy were the owners and operators of King’s Aluminum and Glass for 10 years before retiring.
He was a member of the Church of Christ Church in Scott City, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
On May 12, 1946, he married Dorothy Sarchet in Phillipsburg. She survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Kenneth King and wife, Chris, Redmond, Ore., James King and wife, Janet, Scott City, Ronald King and wife, Rachel, Canehill, Ark., and Jeffrey King and wife, Carol, Lake Jackson, Tex.; daughters, Carmen Veal, Gage, Okla. and Karen Andrews, Lawton, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carla Curtis; brother, Mancel; and sisters, Bonnie, Joyce and Fronna.
The funeral service was held on October 10 at the Church of Christ with Mike Deschner presiding.
Interment was at the Scott County Cemetery.
