Ralph A. West
Ralph A. West, 74, died March 25, 2025, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.
He was born on April 4, 1950, in Moran, the son of Arthur and Ruby (Koon) West.
A resident of Garden City since 1970, he was a retired oil pumper.
He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Friend and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
On Jan. 17, 1981, he married Virga Slater in Sallisaw, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Amber Young and husband, Matthew, Friend; brother, Dick West and wife, Dixie, Moran; mother-inlaw, Jean Slater, Muldrow, Okla.; sisters-in-law, Sarah Coker, Tulsa, Okla., Brenda Slater, Muldrow, Okla., and Patsy Ladwig and husband, Larry, Muldrow, Okla.; brotherin- law, Buck Slater and wife, Christina, Muldrow, Okla.; four grandchildren, Liam, Terriah, Emmali and Nevaeh; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Fri., March 28, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City.
The funeral service will be held Sat., March 29, 2:00 p.m., at the Prairie View Church of the Brethren, Friend, with Rev. Jon Tuttle presiding.
Interment will be in the Prairie View Church Cemetery.
