Sye Micheal Voth Sr., 31, died April 12, 2025, in Scott County.

He was born on Jan. 17, 1994, at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss., the son of Vernon D. Simmons and Monica Cathy Owens.

A resident of Scott City since 2004, he moved from Gulfport, Miss.

He was a manager in training for Casey’s in Scott City and Lakin.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Scott City.

Survivors include his sons, Sye Micheal Voth Jr., Sebastian Eugene Voth, Killeen, Tex., and Jaymie Noah Voth, Scott City; mother, Monica Piatt and husband, Richard, Tyrone, N.M.; father, Vernon Simmons and wife, Nikki, Hopkinsville, Ky.; brothers, Dawson Simmons, Marshall, Tex., Jordan Reynolds, Colorado Springs, Colo., Ian Contreras, Hopkinsville, Ky., and Zach Dyer, Scott City; sisters, Ashley Hobbs and husband, Ricky, Hopkinsville, Ky., Kaitlin Moore and husband, Blake, Gulfport, Miss., Kristin Reynolds, Lincoln, Nebr., and Elizabeth Escobar and husband, Josh, Las Cruces, N.M.; grandfather, Bryan Voth, Scott City; great-grandmothers, Sadie Hornsby, Sayre, Okla., and Bonnie Draper, Aurora, Colo.; and uncle, Nathan Owens, Hopkinsville, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Vivian Voth; grandfather, Perry Owens, Sr.; uncle, Perry Owens; and brother, Jamie Dyer.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
