Judy Muench

Judy S. Muench, 78, died at her home on April 21, 2025, in Scott City.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1946, in Clay Center, the daughter of Axel W. and Wilma (Meyer) Miller. She had been a resident of Scott City since 1970, moving from Leonardville.

Judy attended the United Methodist Church in Scott City.

She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Kansas Quarter Horse Association.

On Oct. 14, 1967, she married John Dennis “J.D.” Muench in Walsburg. He died on Jan. 3, 1996.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie M. Dawson, Burlington; sister, Linda Robinson, Manhattan; grandson, Owen Dawson and granddaughter, Rylie Dawson; and close friend, Sue Nickel, Scott City.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Jay Muench; and brother-in-law, Larry Robinson.

The funeral service was held on April 24 at United Methodist Church in Scott City with Rev. Jeff Goetzinger presiding.

Interment was in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City.
