Charlie P. Schwab

Charlie P. Schwab, 83, died on May 12, 2025, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1941, in Soldier, the son of Emanuel and Bernice (Area) Schwab.

A resident of Scott City since 1965, moving from Oberlin, he was the owner and operator of Charlie’s Plumbing in Scott City.

He graduated with the class of 1959 at Decatur Community High School, Oberlin.

He was a member of the Lyle United Methodist Church in Norcatur and the National Plumbers Association.

On Feb. 29, 2008, he married Patricia Ann Young Goud in Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Pam Turner and husband, Ron, Scott City; sons, Cary Schwab and wife, Tamera, Chanute, and Tim Schwab and wife, Jacquie, Goddard; step-daughter, Theresa Holmes and husband, Lynn, Garden City; stepson, Robert Sneller and wife, Tami, Garden City; sisters, Dorothy Cochran,

Oberlin, and Vera Dack, McCook, Nebr.; brother, John Schwab, Kearney, Nebr.; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Mildred Schwab; three brothers, Bill Schwab, Robert Schwab and Walter Schwab; and two brothers-in-law, Leonard Cochran and Dean Dack.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
