Billy Ackley

Billy Ray Ackley, 79, died July 24, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1945, in Cherokee, Okla., to Clyde Emmett and Sarah Ann (Whitehead) Ackley.

Billy attended school in Cherokee, Okla., and Ulysses.

On May 22, 1971, Billy married Helen Sharpe in Scott City. She survives.

He worked for Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in the HVAC maintenance department.

He is also survived by his son, Bryan Ackley and wife, Miranda; daughter, Annell Ackley; sisters, Ruth Ann Kirby and Irma Elliott; grandson, Nathan Ackley; granddaughter, Avalyn Ackley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous loved ones.

Per Billy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life was held on July 31 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
