Mary Ann McClure, 78, died Oct. 7, 2025, at Common Spirit-Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was born on May 11, 1947, at Garden City, the daughter of Banks Clinton and Etta Martha (Tammen) Estes.

Mary Ann graduated with the Class of 1965, at Dighton High School and graduated from Colorado School of Business in Denver.

She stayed in Denver and worked as a secretary for New Holland. She moved to Mount Vernon, Mo., and worked at the newspaper and was a waitress.

In 1974, she moved back to Dighton and worked in the Scott County Library and later at the Lane County Library. She then was the secretary at Dighton High School.

In 2001, she and her husband purchased the Frigid Crème and ran it until 2014.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dighton, Kansas Livestock Association, Kansas Pork Producers and PEO.

She enjoyed her wheat weaving, collecting antiques and items of peculiar nature, traveling and especially her family activities.

She married Duance McClure on Feb. 25, 1974, at Hesston. He survives.

She is also survived by her son, Matthew Mc-Clure and wife, Tianna, Dighton; brother, Jay Grunwald, Victoria, Tex.; sister, Janis Foos, Dighton; and six grandchildren, Madeline, Vanessa, William, Caiden, Zachary and Quentin.

Visitation will be Sun., Oct. 19, 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Boomhower Funeral Home, 145 North Wichita, Dighton.

The funeral service will be Mon., Oct. 20, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church with Pastor Steve Payne officiating.

Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
