Gloria J. Wright

Gloria J. Wright, 72, died Feb. 15, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1953, in Scott City, the daughter of June E. and Bonnie June (Allen) Pickett.

A lifetime resident of Scott County, she worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for over 15 years.

She was a member of the Prairie View Church of the Brethren in Friend, Community Women’s Bible Study and Friends of Lake Scott.

On May 24, 1975, she married Larry Wright in Scott City. He survives.

Other survivors include her sons, Justin Wright and wife, Elizabeth, Garden City, Joshua Wright and wife, Jenny, Garden City, and Joel Wright, Scott County; a brother, Larry Pickett, and wife, Philene, Scott City; nephew, Chris Pickett, Scott City; two granddaughters and five grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 2, 10:30 a.m., at Prairie View Church of the Brethren in Friend, with the Rev. Jon Tuttle presiding.

The family suggests casual attire.

There will be no calling times.

Interment will be held in the Prairie View Church Cemetery.
