Connie Kessler

Connie Jean (Chapman) Kessler died on March 6, 2026.

She was born on February 5, 1945, in Lawrence, to Virgil and Naomi Chapman.

Connie attended schools in Scott City.

She married Larry Funk in 1962. To this union was born two sets of twins, Tamera Lee, Pamela Dee, Trevor Gene and Travess Dean.

Connie pursued a nursing degree and attended college.

She owned and operated Connie’s Boutique in Scott City for many years.

She married Hilary Kessler on June 17, 1989, in Scott City. He survives.

Connie and her sister, Bonnie, played keyboards for many dances in the area. Hilary served as the band chauffeur and graciously hauled the equipment and danced with all the ladies.

Connie was a member of the First Christian Church, Scott City.

She is also survived by her children, Tamera Turley, Scott City, Pamela Brown and husband, Lewis, Clinton, Mo., Trevor Funk, Garden City, and Travess Funk and wife, Mary, Garden City; stepdaughters, Jana Harkness and husband, Kenton, Garden City, and Lori Montgomery and husband, Jerry, Saint George; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren, 24 step-great-grandchildren and seven step-greatgreat- grandchildren.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Bruner; a daughter-in-law, Sheryl Funk; step-son, Marc Kessler; and step-grandson, Brent Kessler.

There will be no visitation time.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Scott City.

Interment will be at the Scott County Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the First Christian Church in Scott City or the Scott Community Foundation in care of Price and Sons Funeral Homes, 401 S. Washington, Scott City, Ks. 67871.
