James A. Chambers

James A. Chambers, 85, died March 22, 2026, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was bom on June 7, 1940, in Ellis, the son of Clifford and Ida (Strong) Chambers.

A resident of Scott City since 1994, moving from Hill City, he was a retired oil field worker.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City.

On Nov. 25, 1961, he married Shirley Jean Ziegler in Collyer, She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Shelly Wiley and husband, Clinton, Scott City; son, James X. Chambers, Friend; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Gregory Chambers and Andrew Chambers; three brothers and two sisters.

There will be no calling times.

Memorial Mass will be held Fri., March 27, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Don Bcdorc presiding.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
