Susan Jo Brown

Susan Jo Brown, 80, died July 11, 2026, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born on June 15, 1946, in Glencoe, Okla., the daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Schenck) Hendrix.

She had been a resident of Scott City since 1975, moving from Wheeling, Ill. She was an office administrator at local feedlots until her retirement.

On Feb. 7, 1969, she married Larry L. Brown in Kansas City. He survives.

Other survivors include her daughters, Cherie Kardelis and husband, Tony, Lakewood, Colo., and Kori Davis and husband, Sage, Scott City; a sister, Peggy Schnell and husband, Earl, Collinsville, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John and Hal Hendrix.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S Washington, Scott City, with Steve Payne presiding.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
