Roger Allen Cooley

Roger Allen Cooley, 81, died August 1, 2026, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born on April 11, 1945, in Larned, the son of Glenn and Dorothy (Grate) Cooley.

He had been a resident of Scott City since 1996, moving from Leoti.

Roger was a lifetime farmer and owned and operated Cooley’s Carpet Cleaning.

Roger was a member of the First Baptist Church.

On October 27, 1964, he married Toni DeWeese in Leoti at the First Presbyterian Church. She survives.

Other survivors include his sons, R. Craig Cooley and wife, Elizabeth, Roscommon, Mich., and Christopher Cooley, Livingston, Tex.; daughter, Annmarie Wright and husband, Marshal, Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Diana Fahrenholtz, Granby, Colo.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

A memorial service was held on August 5 at the First Baptist Church in Scott City with Pastor Kyle Evans presiding.
