Larry Evan Turley
Larry Evan Turley, 64, died August 17, 2026, at his home in Hoxie.
He was born on December 6, 1961, in Scott City, the son of Gary Earl Turley, Sr., and Catherine Ann (Bennett) Turley.
He spent his early years in Scott City and relocated multiple times before settling in Hoxie, where he called home.
He spent most of his life as a blue-collar worker, owning a construction company, working in the oil fields, and as a heavy equipment operator.
On June 23, 1989, he married Pamela J. Sanderson in Greeley, Colo. She died on March 30, 2023, in Delta, Colo.
Survivors include his daughter, Sonya Pace and husband, Chad, Stratton, Colo.; son, Evan Turley, Hoxie; two sons, Eric Hoyda, Cope, Colo., and Cory Hoyda, Torrington, Wyo.; two daughters, Shannon and Christy Hoyda, Burlington, Colo.; brothers, Gary Turley Jr., of Arkansas, and Alan Nickerson, Evans, Colo.; his father and multiple grandchildren and greatgrandchildren He was also preceded in death by his mother.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sat., August 29, 10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Kyle Evans presiding.
Interment will take place at the Scott County Cemetery following the service.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Larry Turley Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Homes, Box 553, Scott City, Ks. 67871.
