Alan K. Gruver

Alan K. Gruver, 78, died Jan. 7, 2025, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born on August 3, 1946, in Garden City, the son of George Thomas and Opal Evelyn (French) Gruver.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, he was a feed salesman for Moorman Manufacturing and a farmer.

On May 30, 1971, he married Deborah J. Harkness in Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters, Nikole Bird and husband, Kenny, Salina, Heather Wren and husband, Scott, Scott City, and Tai Gruver, Dardenne Prairie, Mo.; brother, Stan Gruver and wife, Pam, Scott City; sister, LaDonna Antenen and husband, Alan, Wichita; sister-inlaw, Pat Gruver, Dodge City; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister; and one brother, Clifford Gruver.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., January 18, 11:00 a.m., at the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center, 212 E. 5th St., Scott City.

There will be no calling times In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kansas Honor Flight in care of Price and Sons Funeral Homes, Box 552, Scott City, Ks. 67871.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
