Albena Browning

Albena Browning, 97, died Nov. 15, 2025, in Scott City.

She was born on April 12, 1928, in Tribune, the daughter of Matthew and Madelyn (Bender) Pfeifer.

A resident of Scott City since 1950, moving from Tribune, she was a cosmetologist and hair dresser most of her life.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City, and participated in the St. Joseph Altar Society. She was also a dedicated Denver Broncos fan.

On June 7, 1950, she married Orville G. Browning in Seneca. He died March 18, 1992, in Scott City.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Browning and wife, Michelle, Granbury, Tex., and Gary “Pix” Browning and wife, Laurie, Castle Rock, Colo.; a daughter, Pamela Browning, Casa Grande, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Matilda Kleyman and Barbra Moran; and brother, Edward Bender.

Public visitation will be Thurs., Nov. 20, 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City.

Vigil services will be held on Thurs., Nov. 20, 7:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The funeral service will be held Fri., Nov. 21, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Don Bedore presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
