Andrew Joseph Gomes

Andrew Joseph Gomes, 23, died May 17, 2022, in Wichita County.

He was born on Jan., 17, 1999, in Jackson, Calif., the son of Douglas and Arlee (Azevedo) Peterson. He had been a resident of Scott City since 2016, moving from Valley Springs, Calif. He was a farmer.

Survivors include, one daughter, Avery Gomes, Scott City; mother, Arlee Peterson, Scott City; father, Douglas Peterson, Scott City; paternal father, Joseph Gomes, Scott City; paternal mother, Jill Mathos, Sonora, Calif.; two brothers, Seth Gomes, Sonora, Calif., and Alex Phillips, Scott City; two sisters, Kyara Gomes, of Oklahoma, and Kayla Coffey, of Minnesota, and an uncle, Jason Peterson, Citrus Heights, Calif.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Rockie Gomes.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
