Anthony “Tony” Lester Beeson, 72, died Dec. 11, 2024, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
Tony was born on Sept. 3, 1952, in Garden City to Lester and Marieta Beeson.
He grew up on the family farm near Pence. Following graduation from Scott Community High School in 1970, he attended Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland where he was certified in auto body.
After school, he married Lavenda Bandel in 1975. They moved back to the farm for awhile before moving to Garden City.
In 1984, he married Erica Schuetz at Pence. She survives.
He was a welder for many years at Jerry’s Welding in Scott City. He became a devoted Catholic at St. Joseph’s Church and joined the Knights of Columbus.
Other survivors include his daughters, DaShell Sellers and husband, Jason, Monica Beeson and Brenna Beeson; sisters, Alberta Wright, Trudi Kuntzsch and husband, Fred, Heidi Jason and husband, John, Jennifer Henry and husband, Tony, and Callie Cox; daughterin- law Jessica Beeson and family; aunt, Cora Wright and husband, Dewey; grandchildren, Gavin Sellers, Audrey Sellers, Jana Sellers, Charlie Smith and Renee Beeson; and many, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Kenneth and Kevin; brothers-in-law, John Wright and Brad Cox; and nephew John Kerschen.
The rosary will be held on Thurs., Jan. 2, at 6:40 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City.
The funeral service will be held on Fri., Jan. 3, 2:00 p.m., at the church with Fr. Don Bedore and Fr. Warren Stecklein presiding.
Inurnment will be at the Scott County Cemetery.
