Cynthia D. Hornback, 65, died April 6, 2025, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.
She was born on August 30, 1959, in Garden City, the daughter of Frank Keith and June Joan (Busch) Shull.
She had been a Scott City resident since 1974, moving from Dighton.
She spent most of her life working in education and helping with the afterschool program.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Scott City, and the ABW. Cindy was an avid baker, collected snowmen, loved garage sales and thrifting, and was an Awana volunteer.
On June 16, 2001, Cynthia married Kendall Lee Hornback in Scott City. He died April 12, 2014, in Scott City.
Survivors include her sisters, Sharon Sowell, Hurst, Tex., Patricia “Tish” Shull, Casper, Wyo., and Janet Gibbs, Thornton, Colo.; a brother, David Shull, of Texas; sister-in-law, Melissa Hornback, Sonora, Ky.; mother-in-law, Brenda Hornback, Sonora, Ky.; a cousin, Ann Shull, Great Bend; daughter of the heart, Christa Rose, Scott City; grandchildren, Dale McPherson and Breana McPherson, both of Scott City; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Don Sowell.
A memorial service will be held Thurs., April 17, 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
There will be no calling times.
Inurnment will be at the Dighton Cemetery.
