Dan Wright

Dan E. Wright, 85, died March 8, 2024, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born on Dec. 8, 1938, in Logan County, the son of William Clifford and Idella Margaret (Russell) Wright.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, he worked for Fairleigh Feedyard as a yard foreman for 25 years, was a custom cutter, and enjoyed repairing bicycles in his retirement years.

He was a member of the NRA and a United States Army veteran.

On July 5, 1963, he married Evalyn M. Hoffman in Raton, N.M. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughter, Susan Richards and husband, Craig, Scott City; sons, Brian Wright and wife, Carolyn, Mission, Tex., and Greg Wright and wife, Portia, Wichita; sisters, Sue West and husband, Patric, Scott City, and Carolyn Hundertmark and husband, Walter, Scott City; six brothers, Dewey Wright and wife, Cora, Wilbur Wright, Marion Wright, Gary Wright, and Harold Wright and wife, Wanda, all of Scott City, and Galen Wright and wife, Louise, Sublette; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry A. Wright; grandson, Brett Wright; six brothers, Cleve Wright, Harlan Wright, Milton Wright, Elvin Wright, Marvin Wright and Roy Wright; and two sisters, Della Morgan and Velda Spencer.

Visitation will be Fri., March 15, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
