Daniel Ryan

Daniel Patrick Ryan, 38, died on Dec. 23, 2023, in Scott City.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1985, in Scott City, the son of Patrick John and Barbara Jean (Bishop) Ryan.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, he was the owner and operator of Premier Plumbing in Scott City.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Scott City, and was a U.S. Army veteran with the rank of staff sergeant. During his service in the Global War on Terrorism, he was part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait.

Survivors include his parents, of Scott City; two sisters, Jennifer Nesbitt and husband, Peter, Riverwoods, Ill., and Suzanne Numrich and husband, Brandon, Manhattan; a niece, Mackenzie Nesbitt, Riverwoods, Ill., and nephew, Logan Nesbitt, Riverwoods, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The funeral service was held on Dec. 28 at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Chuck Kirk and Steve Payne presiding.

Interment was in the Scott County Cemetery with military honors provided by the Kansas Army National Guard.
