Darlene Jerauld

Darlene Jerauld, 90, died Feb. 9, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellis.

She was born on July 16, 1934, to Theodore and Alma (Almeyer) Rapier.

She was a lifelong resident of Leoti until recently moving to Ellis.

Darlene was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and active in the Women’s Auxiliary.

She sold Avon products for 48 years.

On June 20, 1954, she married Chester Jerauld in Scott City. He died on Aug. 17, 2012.

Survivors include her sons, Eldonn Jerauld and wife, Stephanie, Hays, and Lynn Jerauld and wife, Debbie, Benton; a brother, Jack Rapier and wife, Sheri, Wichita; a sister, Joyce Kidwell; nine grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Darlene was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, LoVona; and her siblings, Eugene and Eva Rapier, Lavon and Dean Nance and Shirley and Bud Reed.

The funeral service was held Feb. 15 at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Leoti, with Pastor Matthew Koterba presiding. Interment followed at the Leoti Cemetery.
