Darrell Dice

Darrell Duane Dice, a skilled bricklayer with a passion for music and a love for old cars, died on Dec. 21, 2023, in Nampa, Ida., at the age of 80.

He was born to Carl and Lucille Dice on Sept. 18, 1943, in Scott City, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and creativity.

Darrell dedicated much of his professional life to the artistry of bricklaying, leaving behind structures that stand as a testament to his craftsmanship. His hands were not only skillful at shaping bricks into sturdy structures but also skillfully strumming the strings of his guitar, producing melodies that echoed through the years.

Beyond his work, Darrell found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A lover of music, he could often be found playing his guitar, sharing the gift of his music with family and friends. His soulful tunes created an atmosphere of warmth and friendship, making every gathering a memorable occasion.

In addition to his professional and musical talents, Darrell had a fondness for classic cars, with his trusty 1931 Chevy Woody being a cherished companion throughout the years. Every Fourth of July, Darrell drove his Woody through the Melba parade. The sight of him cruising down the parade route brought smiles to the faces of all who witnessed.

He is survived by his partner of many years, Elaine Ward; children, Devin Dice and wife, Shelli, Dion Dice and Diana Dice; grandchildren Seth Dice, Anya Dice, Lindi Dice and Pete Dice; siblings Jean Brandenburger, Dennis Dice, Rita Peterson and husband, Gene, Kathy Coats, Bonnie Cravens and husband, Jerry, Todd Dice and Terry Dice and wife, Tammy; sisterin- law, Bonnie Dice; and many other loving family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories of Darrell’s laughter, the twang of his guitar strings, and the many stories shared.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and one brother.

Darrell will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his contributions to his craft, his love for music, and the determined spirit that made him a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him. May he rest in peace, his melodies forever playing in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
