Darrell Eugene Sager

Darrell Eugene Sager, 67, died January 1, 2025, at Wheatridge Care Park Center, Liberal.

He was born on March 22, 1957, in Garden City to Eugene and Shirley (Lundblade) Sager.

He met the love of his life, Judith “Judy” Foulke and they began their journey together with their first date on Halloween, in 1977.

On Nov. 4, 1978, Darrell and Judy married in Scott City. The couple shared many cherished years together until Judy’s death on Nov. 22, 2016.

Darrell and Judy moved to Liberal where Darrell worked as a truck driver for many years, hauling crude oil.

His love for the open road was rivaled only by his passion for collecting model trains and trucks, hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life.

Darrell is survived by his brother, Charles Sager and wife, Lila, Scott City; sister, Susie Heslop and husband, Martin, El Dorado; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held on Sat., Nov. 15, 2:00 p.m., at the Scott County Cemetery.
