David W. Rich

David W. Rich, 62, died on Jan. 16, 2022, at the Kearny County Hospital, Lakin.

H e was born on Jan. 25, 1959, in La Junta, Colo., the son of Du-Wayne Elden Rich and Margaret Ann (Clark) Fitzpatrick.

He was a longtime resident of Deerfield, having moved from Johnson in 1969.

On Jan. 3, 1981, he married Mary Lou Summers in Goodland.

A diesel mechanic, he retired from Berry Tractor in 2017 after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Scout Master for more than 20 years.

He is survived by three sons, Daniel Rich and wife, Grace, Windsor, Colo., Kevin Rich and wife, Torey, Downs, and Billy Rich and wife, Serina, Holcomb; daughters, Rebecca Chisholm and husband, Mike, Aurora, Colo., Kristina Walker and husband, Daniel, Lakin, Beverly Moore and husband, Jeremy, Garden City, JoAnn Rich, Jamestown, N.D., and Angela Robinson and husband, Paul, Denton, Tex.; and two sisters, Joyce Rich and Betty Jo Hampton, Downs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William Rich and Jimmy Rich.

A graveside memorial service was held Jan. 22, at the Deerfield Cemetery.
