Deanna Kay Tucker

Deanna Kay Tucker, 82, died, Sept. 14, 2023, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born on June 3, 1941, in Scott City, the daughter of Roy David and Mildred (Matheny) Tucker.

She had been in the community since the spring of 1994, having moved from Houston, Tex., she was a retired police dispatcher.

She was a member of Pence Community Church and the Scott City Quilt Guild.

On Aug. 12, 1959, she married Bill Sperry in Garden City.

Survivors include her son, David Sperry and wife, Jenny, Rowlett, Tex.; daughters, Francine Owen, Magnolia, Tex., Patrina McGonagle and husband, Tim, Scott City, and Deborah Dudley and husband, Darrell, Pinehurst, Tex.; brother, Gary Tucker and wife, Janis, Scott City; sister-in-law, Mary Fulton and husband, Robert, Las Cruces, N.M.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchilden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Tucker; a son-in-law, James Owen; and two granddaughters, Cassandra Dudley and Edin Graber.

A memorial service was held Sept. 21 at the Pence Community Church with Don Williams presiding.
