Delbert L. Rose

Delbert L. Rose, 93, died, Feb 20, 2024, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born on Sept. 27, 1930, in Scott City, the son of Hubert Coy and Neva Berniece (Quance) Rose. Delbert was a resident of Logan County from 1950, until moving to Scott City in 1999. He was a farmer.

He was a member of the United Christian Church in Oakley, served on the Logan County Soil Conservation Board for 25 years, the USD 274 board of education for 12 years, the Farm Bureau board, Lee’s Township board, and was an observer for the National Weather Service for 50 years.

On April 23, 1950, he married Patricia L. Mc-Guire in Oakley. She died on Oct. 14, 2004, in Scott City.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Goedert and husband, Jack, Fort Morgan, Colo.; sons, Burton Rose, Scott City, and Brian Rose and wife, Kelly, Wichita; eight grandchildren, Corey Rose and wife, Julie, Clenton Rose and wife, Anita, Cheyenne Rose, Cody Rose and wife, Jessica, Dylan Rose and wife, Bailey, Gavin Rose, Raylee Louis and husband, Ben Jean, and Braden Rose and wife, Kathryn; 10 greatgrandchildren, Kasha and Chance Chelemedos, Sierra Rose, Chance Rose, Chelsie Rose, Kristopher and Kelsie Rose, Anthony Rose, Adrian and Mason Weber, Audrey Buzzell, Sona Rose and Coast Rose; and 10 great-greatgrandchildren, Ariston Nguyen, Aja Hall, Addix Embryo, Mateo Rose, Levi Rose, Dalton Rose, Ashlyn Rose (That Girl), Chaysston Rose, Samuel Weber, Kordel Dorzweiler, and one to be born in June.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Burton Rose, Jr. and Arlen Rose; one daughter-in-law, Monta Rose; and a grand dog, Maggie.

Visitation will be Fri., Feb. 23, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City.

The funeral service will be held Sat., Feb. 24, 11:00 a.m., at the United Christian Church, Oakley, with Rev. Bob Kelly presiding.

The graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Scott County Cemetery.
