Delores Maxine Roemer

Delores Maxine Roemer, 89, died Sept. 12, 2024, at Citizens Medical Center in Colby.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1935, in Lane County, the daughter of Alvin and Cornelia (Bruner) Thon.

She was a homemaker, farmer and rancher, Cub Scout leader, 4-H project leader and participated in the church choir. She was a member of the Healy Methodist Church, Rebecca Lodge, and Cheyenne Country Club swimming pool.

Delores enjoyed time with family and coffee with friends at Healy Oil. Her hobbies included reading, ceramics, crochet, cross-stitch, and rose and flower gardening.

Camping and fishing at Cedar Bluff Reservoir with Reece and the kids was a highlight of summers along with attending the kids’ sports activities. She adored watching and feeding the birds and squirrels in the backyard.

On May 27, 1956, Delores married Reece William Roemer in Healy.

She is survived by three sons, Vernon Roemer and wife, Michelle, Gem, Kenneth Roemer and wife, Dana, Emporia, and Dennis Roemer and wife, Janet, Edmond, Okla.; son-in-law, Darryl Clinton, Scott City; brother, Larry Thon and wife, Ann, Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Virgina K. Clinton; and brother, Clifford Thon.

A memorial service was held Sept. 16 at the Healy Methodist Church in Healy with Pastor Gil presiding.

Interment was at the Healy Cemetery.
