Donita P. Buerkle

Donita P. Buerkle, 92, died Oct. 27, 2021, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Lucy (Kidwell) Hagler.

A resident of Holcomb since 1946, moving from Kearny County, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Prairie View Church of the Brethren in Friend and a member of EHU and ESA.

On August 12, 1945, she married Robert Buerkle in Deerfield. He died on Oct. 12, 2020, in Scott City.

Survivors include her two daughters, Anita Miller and husband, Dennis, Wilson, and Christine Joy and husband, Gregg, Garden City; one son, Gail Buerkle and wife, Karen, Azel, Tex.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Scott and husband, Todd, Holcomb, Brett Pollman and wife, Wendy, Wichita, Rachel Schmit and hus band, John, Valrico, Fla., Kenton Pollman, Augusta, Tammy Miller, Russell, Pam Funk and husband, Bobby, of Alabama, Terry Miller, Beaver, and Garry Lee Miller and wife, Kylene, Ellsworth; 21 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Alan and Gary Lee Buerkle; one sister, Dorothy Williams-Yakel; and four brothers, Loren, Olin “Short”, Kenneth and Maurice Hagler.

Funeral service will be held on Fri., Nov. 5, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at the Prairie View Church of the Brethren, Friend, with Rev. Jon Tuttle presiding. Services will be live-streamed by clicking the Livestream tab on the left side of the obituary starting at 1:55 p.m.

Interment will be in the Prairie View Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Friend.
