Dorothy Mae Kasten

Dorothy Mae Kasten, 94, died September 11, 2021, at the Wallace County Community Care Center, Sharon Springs.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1927, in Russell, the daughter of Bert and Clara (Morgenstern) Potter.

A resident of Scott City since 1956, she moved to Sharon Springs in 2016. She was a homemaker and a nurses aide.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, UMW, and Eastern Star of Scott City.

On October 5, 1947, she married Carl G. Kasten in Russell. He died August 18, 2010, in Scott City.

Survivors include her three sons, Gerald L. Kasten and wife, Janet, Skandia, Mich., Donald H. Kasten and wife, Linda, Houston, Tex., and Larry B. Kasten and wife, Lynn, Sharon Springs; one brother, Robert Potter, Osage City; eight grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Bird and Darlene Caldwell, and one grandson, Christopher.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
