Elissa Carol Bahm

Elissa Carol Bahm, 71, died on June 12, 2023, in Topeka.

She was born May 3, 1952, in Garden City, to Keith A. and Carolyn L. (Shriver) Janzen.

She grew up and lived most of her life in Scott City, moving to Topeka in 2021 to be closer to her family.

Elissa worked her high school years at the famous Burgerteria and was involved with The Order of Rainbow Girls, graduating from Scott Community High School in 1970.

Elissa married Dannie G. Bahm on June 6, 1970. He died March 12, 2022, in Topeka.

Dannie and Elissa moved to the farm in 1973 and soon started farming with her dad, Keith Janzen.

Elissa was a church organist, Sunday School teacher, was highly involved with all three children, serving as a 4-H leader of the Lucky Clover 4-H Club and wrote the Pence Particulars for the local newspaper for years.

She had worked in the office of Royal Beef and later at Bill Wright’s law office.

Elissa supported her husband in his adventures and was always looking out for her family and friends. She loved playing games and decorating Christmas cookies with her children and grandchildren and her annual Christmas shopping sprees with her best friend, Tonda.

She had a huge love for animals, music, singing, Branson theater shows, watching Hallmark movies, and visiting family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Doug Bahm, Topeka, Darin Bahm and wife, Vicky, Kansas City, Mo., and Carrie Doyal and husband, Scott, Topeka; her sister, Ann Price and husband, Jud, Eureka, Mo.; and her grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Jordan and Kaitlyn Doyal, Cameron, Jenna and Amanda Bahm, and Austin Taylor.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 19, 10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding. Services will be live-streamed at www.priceandsons.com.

There will be no visitation. A private family inurnment will take place later.

Memorials may be made out to the Dannie and Elissa Bahm Scholarship Fund set up at the Scott Community Foundation for students from Scott City pursuing an agriculture degree. Donations can be made in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, Box 553, Scott City, Ks. 67871.
