Gale Lee Kirk

Gale Lee Kirk, 68, died on Jan. 12, 2023, in Quinter.

H e was born in Scott City on Nov. 21, 1954, to Roy and Margueritte (Rolando) Kirk.

He graduated from Hayden (Colo.) High School.

He married Pamela Kirk on Feb. 16, 2007, and was happily married for nearly 16 years. She survives.

Gale enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Aug. 24, 1977. He served five years and two months before he was injured and received an honorable discharge.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting and other various outdoor activities. He loved spending time joking around with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards at the casino.

Other survivers include: two sons, Chad Harkness and Dewayne Kirk; two daughters, Michelle Matthews and Cassiebelle Handlin; his brother, Klifton Kirk; his sister, Aleece Collamore; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Kirk and Melvin Kirk; and a sister, Rita Gingrich.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Dighton on Sun., Jan. 22, 11:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the family at 303 N. Elm St., Dighton, Ks. 67839. Contributions will be donated in Gale’s name to an organization to be determined at a later date.
